Type of Entrance Exam
1. I want to know the types of entrance exams.
General Selection
The University Entrance Common Test will be administered, and individual academic ability tests will be conducted in two sessions, early (February 25th) and late (March 12th).
To apply for the general selection process, you must take the University Entrance Common Test in all subjects and courses specified by the university.
Please note that those who have been accepted into a national or public university for the early admissions process and have completed the enrollment procedures will not be considered accepted if they take the late admissions process.
Comprehensive Selection (Seminar Entrance Exam/SAIL Entrance Exam)
As part of the comprehensive selection process, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences will hold a "Seminar Entrance Exam," while Faculty of Engineering, Departments of Department of Biotechnology and Life Science, Department of Biomedical Engineering Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering Systems Engineering, and Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science will hold a "SAIL Entrance Exam."
The application requirement for the comprehensive selection process is "persons who can guarantee that they will enroll if they are final accepted," so even if you take the general selection process at a national or public university separately, you will not be considered a successful applicant.
School recommendation selection
There is a "school recommendation type selection" system (for all departments in Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Engineering) that requires the University Entrance Common Test.
You can only apply to one university or faculty for a national or public university's school recommendation selection process (including cases where the University Entrance Common Test is required or not).
In addition, the application requirement for school recommendation selection is "persons who can guarantee that they will enroll if they are final accepted," so even if you take the general selection process at a national or public university separately, you will not be considered a successful applicant.
School recommendation type selection (Industrial animal veterinarian training frame)
There is a "School Recommendation Type Selection (Industrial Animal Veterinarian Training Quota)" (Faculty of Agriculture Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine only) that imposes a common test for university admissions.
Only one university or faculty can apply for the school recommendation-type selection (including whether or not the Common Test for University Admissions is imposed) at national and public universities.
In addition, the application requirement for the school recommendation-type selection (industrial animal veterinarian training quota) is "those who can guarantee that they will be admitted if they pass the final examination", so even if you take the general selection of a national or public university separately, you will not be successful.
Special Selection (Adult Entrance Exam)
It is conducted in 4 departments except Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine of Faculty of Agriculture.
Those who have reached the age of 23 by March of the year of enrollment, have a total of 5 years or more of experience as a member of society (including 5 years), and meet the application requirements set by the faculty are eligible to apply.
Special Selection (Entrance Examination for Privately Financed International Students)
Foreign nationals (non-Japanese nationals (excluding those with permanent residence in Japan)) who meet the requirements set by our university and have taken all subjects and courses designated by each department in the "Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (for the applicable year)" are eligible to apply.
