1. The application requirements state that applicants must have "excellent academic records," but are there any evaluation criteria?

There are no specific grading criteria.

SAIL entrance exams evaluate students' curiosity about natural sciences and technology, and their ability to think logically, and select students who have the potential to become outstanding researchers and professionals in the future. In line with this purpose, we do not set a uniform or mechanical standard such as "a grade point average above a certain point is considered to be excellent grades."

2. Is there a font specification for the Special Activities Report in the application documents?

There are no specifications.

3. Can I write about the contents of the trial class in the special activities report of my application documents?

There is no harm in having you describe it.

Please note the following points in the following departments:

Department of Biotechnology and Life Science: You may write a report, but please choose the topic that you consider most appropriate for your application to Department of Biotechnology and Life Science.

-Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering: In addition to the trial classroom, the report will also cover the one-day trial enrollment Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering "Mecha World."

-Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science: It is permissible to use the contents of the experiential class as the subject of your special activity report. In that case, however, you should not limit yourself to the experience on the day, but rather should engage in more advanced activities such as exploring the content more in-depth in your own way, and then summarize that content in your report.

4. When preparing the special activities report for application, are there any points I should pay attention to other than those mentioned in the application guidelines?

Please note the following points in the following departments:

Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering: For the special activity report, please write about experiments or research on natural sciences, not just about social issues. Examples of experiments or research include research you conducted independently, research you conducted in high school club activities, and research you conducted in university experience classes. However, in the case of club activities, please make it clear that you conducted the research yourself.

5. Can I submit multiple special activity reports for my application?

Department of Department of Biotechnology and Life Science, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering: Within the scope of one title, you may divide it into multiple themes if necessary for writing the report.

-Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science: It is expected that the report will be compiled into one coherent piece.

6. I have participated in a seminar (trial class) outside of school, and a related company would like to issue me a letter of recommendation regarding the results of that experience. Can I include this in my application documents?

It's okay to include it.

7. In the second round of interviews (question and answer session), the Department of Department of Biomedical Engineering tests basic academic ability in physics and mathematics, while the Department of Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science tests basic mathematical ability. Will the content of these tests be related to the content of the presentation?

It is not related to the content of the presentation.

8.第二次選考のプレゼンテーションにおいて、パソコンやポスター、活動成果物等の持ち込みは可能ですか。

○生命工学科、化学物理工学科:パソコン、ポスターともに持ち込みは可能です。活動成果物等がある場合には、必要に応じて持参して構いません。

○生体医用システム工学科、機械システム工学科：プロジェクターを用意しますので、パソコンを持ち込んでプレゼンテーションをお願いします。ポスターを貼るためのボードは用意しませんので、パソコンからポスターを投影してプレゼンテーションを行ってください。活動成果物等がある場合には、必要に応じて持参して構いません。

○知能情報システム工学科:パソコンは持ち込み可能です。また、ポスターの持ち込みは可能ですが、貼るためのボードは用意しておりません。活動成果物等がある場合には、必要に応じて持参して構いません。

9.第二次選考のプレゼンテーションの面接員は何名ですか。

10. Will other applicants also listen to the presentations for the second round of selection?

We are not answering that question.

11.What kind of pre-admission education will be provided after passing the SAIL entrance exam?

Department of Biotechnology and Life Science: We will give you a pre-assignment, so please work on it. If the educational effect is insufficient, you will be asked to retake the course and resubmit it.

Department of Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering: Provides correspondence corrections for chemistry, physics, and mathematics, as well as English education using e-learning materials.

-Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering: Provides correspondence courses in physics and mathematics, as well as English education using e-learning materials.

○ Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science: You will be assigned study materials and assignments and will be required to submit them by mail on a regular basis.

12. 新型コロナウイルス感染拡大等のため、予定していた実験や体験実習を完了できていないのですが、どのように書けば良いでしょうか。

新型コロナウイルス感染拡大等の影響により予定していた特別活動を完了できていない場合、現時点までの取り組み状況と成果獲得に向けた努力のプロセスを記入してください。
