Student consultation

Student counseling rooms are located on both campuses as a place for students and Faculty Member to discuss freely. Please feel free to come and consult with us about anything related to your studies, career paths, relationships, life, etc.
Teachers from each department are in charge, so you can ask simple questions about classes.
In addition, depending on the content, we can introduce you to the employment department, learning counseling room, and special study support office on campus, and if necessary, we will introduce you to an external counseling organization. Of course, the confidentiality of the contents of the consultation will be strictly maintained. We will support you so that you can live your campus life with peace of mind.
(However, we cannot accept consultations for the sole purpose of correcting papers, reports, etc.)

About harassment

Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology defines harassment as "inappropriate verbal or physical actions based on discriminatory attitudes or using power relationships to cause disadvantage or damage to the other person in relation to their studies, research, or job performance, including mental or physical aspects." Harassment includes sexual harassment, academic harassment, and racial harassment, as well as harassment related to alcohol, smoking, email, telephone, etc.
Our university has established a Harassment Prevention and Countermeasures Committee with the aim of preventing various types of harassment that undermine individual dignity and academic freedom and providing relief to victims, and has opened a Harassment Counseling Room as an intermediary for consultation and problem resolution. The counselors are specialized counselors of our university who have undergone special training and are appointed by President.
Methods for resolving problems include warnings and cautions to the other party, fact-finding, discussions between the parties (mediation at the request of the person seeking consultation), and, depending on the deliberations, coercive measures such as committee recommendations and sanctions. In all cases, the wishes of the person seeking consultation will be respected and their reputation and privacy will be protected. The complaint procedure can be withdrawn at any stage. In addition, the procedure may end with just consultation.

Consultation days (in principle) Tuesday and Thursday 9:00~12:00

Koganei Campus Counseling Office
Location: Faculty of Engineering 3rd floor, Administration Building (Student Counseling Room)
Consultation days (in principle) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00~12:00

The counselors are university counselors (male and female).
You can use either campus.
The consultation date can be adjusted, so please let us know if the scheduled date doesn't work for you.
