Faculty of Agriculture (Undergraduate) Admissions Policy

(Learning Objectives)

The Faculty of Agriculture aims to cultivate talented individuals with outstanding abilities by imparting broad knowledge, teaching specialized academic subjects, and developing intellectual, moral, and applied abilities in order to contribute to solving problems in the fields of agriculture, life science, environmental science, and veterinary medicine and to creating a sustainable society.

(Admissions Policy)

  1. Those who have basic textbook-level knowledge of the major subjects and courses studied in high school, are able to solve problems, and have knowledge, insight, and skills gained from practical and experiential learning in science, mathematics, and English subjects.
  2. Someone who can consider and judge the various issues facing humanity from multiple perspectives, organize their own thoughts, and express them in Japanese in a way that is easy for others to understand.
  3. Students will be interested in various issues related to food, life, resources, and the environment in both local and international communities, and willing to use the knowledge they have acquired to think independently and cooperate and collaborate with others to tackle these problems.

Department of Biological Production

(Educational Goals)

Department of Biological Production to develop broad-minded individuals who have a deep and broad understanding of agriculture in Japan and around the world, as well as advanced specialized knowledge related to agriculture, and who have excellent basic and applied skills in the fields of production technology and the environment, plant production, animal production, and agricultural management and economics.

(Admissions Policy)

  1. Those who are interested in issues such as food, agriculture, rural issues, and sustainable agriculture that face humanity, and who have the desire to acquire advanced specialized knowledge related to agriculture.
  2. Those who have sufficient academic ability in science subjects such as biology, as well as basic subjects such as Japanese, mathematics, and English.

Department of Applied Biological Science

(Educational Goals)

Department of Applied Biological Science aims to develop broad-minded individuals with excellent basic and applied skills in the fields of bioscience and biotechnology, including molecular biochemistry, biofunctional chemistry, and biocontrol science.

  1. Applicants must have an interest in the fields of bioscience and biotechnology and a desire to contribute to society and the world through activities in these fields.
  2. Those who have sufficient academic ability in science subjects such as biology and chemistry, as well as basic subjects such as Japanese, mathematics, and English.

 

Department of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences

(Educational Goals)

Department of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences aims to create a scientific foundation for humanity to live in harmony with the global environment, and to train talented individuals who have acquired basic academic skills in natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as the insight and inquisitiveness to contribute to solving problems related to the environment and resources.

Department of Ecoregion Science

(Educational Goals)

Department of Ecoregion Science regards forests, rural areas, and cities as a continuous region, and focuses on agricultural practices and the diverse relationships between nature and human activities. It aims to equip students with knowledge of regional management and planning through collaboration between natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, and to train competent problem-solvers for companies, research institutes, government agencies, and local communities.

  1. Applicants should be interested in issues relating to the management, planning and regeneration of regional ecology, production and society, and have the desire to contribute to solving these issues from a global perspective.
  2. Those who have sufficient academic ability in basic subjects such as mathematics, science, and English, and who also have an interest in social studies subjects.

Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine

(Educational Goals)

Based on the philosophy that veterinarians should contribute to the health and welfare of both humans and animals, this Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine trains talented individuals with an international perspective who can contribute to the provision of advanced veterinary medical care, human health and food safety, and the development of life science research.

  1. Applicants must have a goal of becoming a veterinarian, a desire to contribute to the development of veterinary medicine, and an interest in nature and life phenomena and a desire to explore these.
  2. Those who have sufficient academic ability in science subjects such as biology, as well as basic subjects such as Japanese, mathematics, and English, as well as reading comprehension and scientific application skills.
