Hosting International Visiting Researchers

At Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), different statuses are assigned to visiting researchers from overseas based on the purpose and duration of their stay.
Generally, they are grouped as follows.

Visiting Professor

An individual who collaborates in research with TUAT faculty members, is affiliated with a university or institution outside Japan, and holds a position equivalent to a professor or associate professor at TUAT.

Period of Stay at TUAT

Up to one year (extendable)

Visiting Researcher

Individuals who collaborate in research with our university’s faculty members and are affiliated with universities or institutions outside Japan:

Those who are accepted by the Faculty of Agriculture or the Graduate School of Agriculture:
must be assistant professors, hold a doctoral degree, or possess equivalent qualifications.
Those who are accepted by Faculty of Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, BASE and Graduate School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences:
must have completed (or are expected to complete) a master's degree, or possess an equivalent qualifications.

Period of Stay at TUAT

Up to one year (extendable)
